Statement 52
Oxygen does not ‘nourish’ life. Rather it arrives to demand its due, to consume the electrons from the food we consume. This recasts the role of the atmos as the larger holding-that-holds- us, our lives, humanity and civilization. Being ‘held’ by oxygen is also a constant reminding of the inevitability of death, of entropic decay, that is not only our destiny as individuals, but also that of all life and the universe itself.
