Statement 67

Finding the place of architecture in culture is not easy. One has to start from the premise that it is everywhere or that it is nowhere. For the most part architectural education starts from the easy middle ground, using the disciplines of archaeology, history and sociology to cover the former and the mythologies of the avant-garde, modernism and innovation to cover the other. Architectural education has not yet figured out how to intertwine the various components. Pedagogy is like a Tinkertoy of possibilities that are manipulated in slow motion.
